Store Count...

The following Acme locations have opened:

Superfresh at 1305 West Chester Pike, Havertown, PA
Superfresh at 1001 South Street, Philadelphia, PA
Superfresh at 305 South Fifth Street, Philadelphia, PA

Update: Store count has been updated. I had upped the count by 4 from last week but only 3 stores opened today.

    1. According to the tracking I've done, there are 4 more to go but that puts the count at 180 when I believe the final number was supposed to be 179. All stores will be open by Friday so we'll know then what the final count is.

  2. Still Gladwynne and Wynnewood PA along with Wilmington DE. I think that's it.

    1. That is correct! Just realized I still had the SuperFresh in Newark, DE on the list but Acme dropped that one.

  3. Wilmington must've needed extra work from the sound of it.

Assuming everything is open going to shoot for next Monday for a road trip to get pictures of whatever I can.

  4. With 3 stores posted as opening today, would that make it 175 Acme/Acme Pharmacy/Acme Sav-on stores now?

    1. You're right! I'm so used to adding 4 to each count, I did that automatically this morning without even thinking about it.

  5. Looks like store count is going up by one...they announced today they are also buying A&P Fresh in Boonton. The store is already closed and liquidated...so i wonder if they will be able to open it by Christmas.

  7. I wonder if there is any chance they will also buy the Budd Lake/Mt Olive A&P.

    1. I doubt it- it didn't seem to be doing much business in its' final years, likely due to the Walmart and Sam's Club over at the ITC Crossing, and the ShopRite, Walmart and Weis over in Hackettstown/Mansfield; not to mention the PFresh Target a couple miles down the road from the A&P.

  8. Only five more Acmes a-coming! The Randolph store closed the other day, and A&P will be dead in less than a week.

  9. I'm shocked that Acme has a Center City Philadelphia location with the store on South 5th street.

    1. Seems like a good spot and it's a bit more unusual to still have an at least somewhat "normal" market in a city area like this. Found this one when we were taking a group to stay in Philly at the hostel and wanted to save room by buying everything there rather than trying to cart several days of foods with us from up here in NY.

    2. Forgot to add the 1001 South Street location too. That's also in Center City Philadelphia

  10. Acme actually painted over the "Fresh" logos inside the South Street location. I wouls assume they did the same for 5th Street.
