After the store on Dundee Road in Nanticoke closed, this took over as my favorite Acme. It never changed from its opening day (1957) and when it was sold in 1995 it was still unremodeled and still had the fish eye logo. It is literally two minutes away from the store on Church Street in Dallas. Never understood how two stores so close to one another survived so long, but they were both still Acmes when Penn Traffic bought them. Today it is a Thomas Family Market (a local family owned grocery store)

ReplyDeleteThat first photo is a blast from the past for me, as it looks just like the one in Egg Harbor City, NJ did when it was still open.
