    1. Hey Milltown, is your Acme done with the refresh yet?

    2. Not yet, they are moving at a snail's pace but it's coming along... slowly. Any word on when the Ortley A&P will be converted to Acme and how it fared in the Nor'easter?

  2. This is the first store count post you've made since the establishment of the blog in which the number actually went UP!

    1. You're right about that! It was nice adding a digit to the graphic instead of subtracting one... or four...

    2. Although, I didn't even have to make this graphic. The store count was 108 back in November 13, 2014 after New Britain and Warminster closed. Went down to 107 when Clifton closed.

    1. I'll swing by there on Saturday for some pictures. Surprised to see how close this location is to the former Clifton Acme!

    2. Part of the OLD Montclair Acme was later a Blockbuster. What's in that space now?

    3. CVS occupies most of the building. I'm not sure what's in the rest of it.

    4. CVS is about half and there are a number of smaller places--a Quest diagnostics, a Kumon tutoring place for kids, a sandwich shop and a salon for kids.

    5. Montclair opens on Sunday...according to the flyers that came in Thursday's Star Ledger. It looks like they are doing a bit more than cosmetic changes, because they have taken down a wall, or possibly a display, in the area between the exit and entrance, inside the vestibule--and this will allow more natural light into produce and floral. It looks nice! And it looks like they are also keeping the old cafe area...there is an Acme Coffee Price List up at the old cafe (not sure if it will be self-serve or staffed). Did you happen to notice at West New York--if the cafe was still there, and staffed?

    6. Yes, the Café was still there and was staffed although the employee who was working there didn't know how to make the coffee. Several employees was trying to figure out if the coffee should remain on the back counter or be moved so customers could serve themselves. Sandwiches and salads were being stocked at the Café as well.

    7. If you are heading to Montclair...don't forget to check out the former Acme of Upper Montclair which is now a CVS. It's across Valley Road and a bit North from the new Acme. This isnt the store that closed in the 90's (and is also now a CVS)...it's a much older one.
