I've had several people email and say they would try to get pictures of Millville for us. Unfortunately none have come in. I will be doing a post on Millville next Friday even if pictures are not arrive. (There is a little bit of a surprise that will be coming along with the post) If there is anyone out there who can still get some pictures for us it would be greatly appreciated!
where exactly is millville? i may do it if it's not that far out of my area. i am located in burlington, nj. i'm guessing it's more south? no one seems to care really about this store, but if it's not terribly far than i would take a drive this week there.
ReplyDeleteIt is south. The official address is 101 Bluebird Lane but it's also right off of North 2nd Street which is a main street through Millville. The Acme is next to Lowe's and just down the street from the Cumberland Mall. Yeah, interest in this store is about zero.
ReplyDeletethat store was always a dump and not worth the time --- (although it could have been if supervalu once again cared!) i know since i had a store director from that location at my store who i now believe left acme anyway on her own free-will and got a better job for a different company management. a very nice lady too with decades of experience. to be honest not trying to sound rude by any means! but i feel for all the employees affected. i can only imagine where they are being sent. they screwed up horribly with every other stores on the closing list, and now the union and acme are going at it yet again. acme is in real trouble if anymore stores close, new jersey is probably the most walking on egg shells right now! although a lot of pa stores are too! they will give the hand me downs to some delapitated stores but not invest money into full real remodels for probably more than 2-3 dozen stores if that. employees will believe they are in no danger because of "newer" shelving and decorative packages, but it isn't costing acme much considering they are all from closed stores. willingboro got promised a full re-model, then they re-evaluated and just "touched" it up...and it still looks like poop, and no customer there looks happy. (if you can find one) a big mistake supervalu has made was transferring, firing and getting rid of people the customer base has known for years, and it makes them have less reason to shop at an over-priced less offerings store. i can see firing an employee for doing something very wrong, but for not saying HELLO, CAN I OFFER YOU ASSISTANCE TODAY? or taking a penny off of the floor. i just give up with this company, they will do what they want and probably win in the end. i guess that's why it is good there is someone who preserves the history of a once-good best place to work and shop business.
ReplyDeletei just got to figure out where i want to shop. because i do not like shoprite, i liked the acme but now the location i liked is closed, aldi's has cheap crap and horrible meat. i may have to go all over for one grocery trip, it is a huge inconvience now. i will probably go to produce junction for my produce, go to the meat stop for my lunch meats, god only knows where for everything else, because i can't get any selection at the acme near me that i had at the location i shopped at. i wish they would stop sending me ads in the mail, not shopping at willingboro. i hate that acme. burlington would be my next choice i suppose but why should i have to go another 15 minutes out of my way so my food can defrost after winter is over? right now is okay, but not after it is warm again. i am very aggravated with the locations in south jersey! supervalu thinks "nearby locations" are convienient? not for many people! every acme is further and offers different things. i can not even get those cheese sticks cinnaminson deli offered, willingboro doesn't offer them. pathmark smells like a dirty fish when you walk in. i have to figure out my grocery shopping strategies, i might just cave in and go to shoprite in delran. it is too much hastle now!!!
