I remember when I worked at the A&P through the Seventies and early Eighties, and quite often you'd open a case of store brand product, and another chain's merchandise would be in the box. All the store-brand stuff was made in the same plants. A lot of private label goods came from A&P's plant in Horseheads NY, and they made all kinds of product for the other chains.
