  1. You would think that they would have at least checked the spelling on the sign. "Rockway"

  2. I didn't even notice that. I did notice that the Morris Plains store is supposedly located on Hanover and Speedwell Streets. It's actually Hanover & Speedwell Avenues... not that it's a big deal, but it doesn't take much to get someone to proofread a sign. No attention to detail whatsoever.

  3. Was just there a month ago. I noticed the carts had been changed for old ones and a unkept look to the interior. The store had a eerie feel to it and the prices (even with the clubcard) were very high. I told my girlfriend while we were there I thought it was gonna be closing soon. To bad they are run so poorly and retreated to Philly. Maybe Supervalu should merge with A&P and just keep 2 stores open. In a serious way I feel for the employees that are losing their jobs while the big wigs get bonus.

  4. SuperValu has been my enemy ever since they destroyed and then closed my all time favorite store Laneco/Foodlane. Those that don't know what was Laneco was picture a Super Walmart. This was way before Walmart was in eastern PA or NJ. I think they had around 25 stores in the Lehigh Valley . Then SuperValu bought them, downsized them then finally killed them off around 2001. Seems to me superValu did the same with Acme.

  5. the Laneco store format featuring groceries and a large clothing dept with sporting goods was the template that Sam Walton used to create Wal-Mart Supercenter...Ray Bartolacci the founder and then owner of Laneco...helped Sam Walton to copy Lanecos format...i miss Laneco too...those stores were making money and did not have to close...the deal was made under the table...Giant markets took over many Lanecos...the Laneco name has recently been re-introduced by some of the owners of former Lanecos that are owned by Aharts Markets
