Acme, Newton NJ circa 1999

Newton looking much better here than in it's final days. The red oval sign looking good and crisp. The unfortunate green paint job still looking fresh. Click here to view the original Newton store post. And coming soon... the Abandoned Newton Acme post!

  1. Man this little store was neat! I mean it was not maintained properly, but it was cool. Sorta caught in a time warp. As a native of n.w.Jersey I knew of a few Acmes in the area and some in eastern PA. All ofcourse are gone now. A few I remember: Sparta, Roxbury, Phillpsburg, Washinghton, and Flemington in NJ (and ofcourse Newton and Rockaway) In PA I remember the Bangor,E.Stroudsburg, and Stroudsburg stores. All of them gone and if not for Acme Style forgotten. Keep this cool blog going. Regards Larry.
