The End of Anonymous Comments

If you would like to leave a comment on Acme Style, you will need to sign in using one of the following services:

Google
LiveJournal
WordPress
TypePad
AIM
OpenID (which accpets Yahoo, flickr & AOL accounts)

These options are available in the pull-down menu of the comment window. "Anonymous" is no longer an option.

    So the Name/URL is no longer an option?
    In that case, @ is now Anthony!
    (Any idea how I can get it to list me as my Flickr username instead?)

      Open ID should accept your flickr username

      Why in the heck would you eliminate the name option? If I type in a NAME you KNOW WHO I AM!

      Seems stupid to eliminate the NAME option, after all once someone enters their NAME and does so EVERY TIME you know who they are!!!! DUH!

      The name and anonymous options were on in the same. One goes, they both go.

      Except that they didn't have to - since every comment comes up as will be posted after approval, just don't approve any where someone types in Anonymous. Only approve the ones with an actual name (and even then only if they make some sense).

      Not to mention that it only partially works, as somehow that first one posted (with unknown) not intentionally, just trying to find a way to post since the former option was no longer given.

      Exactly! They've gotten out of control lately. I don't even post most of their comments anyway so why even let them try. We do get some good information from "Anonymous" sources but unfortunately a few rotten apples...

    Why would anyone want to post negative comments on here? It's not a political or religious site. I like all the positivity on here. It gets me through my workday.

      I filter out the pointless negative comments, which are often submitted by anonymous commenters.
