Check Acme Fast!

  1. WOW! What excitement this ad presents! I don't believe that I ever saw this store. Obviously a very early A-frame, with the unusual sign. Note how the steel curves around as it goes up. Newtown Square has a similar look. The A-frame has been enclosed to have a flat ceiling, but the edges still curve, and that might have been the first A-frame store (1958). The parking sign is really cool, and I clearly remember when that was the standard look. During the decade 1958-1968, Acme was really doing just fine, and it shows in the excitement of this ad!
