Decor Directory!

Below are summaries of all decor packages
used in Acme stores from the 60's
through present day…

  1. Nice post, I wonder if there are any stores out there that still have that decor. Probably not seeing as there are only a few peaked roof stores left, and most have gotten some kind of an update through the years.

  2. Alot small, lower volume stores still had this decor in the late 90's. American Stores replaced it with the Convenience Store look (a future decor post) shortly before the company was sold to Albertsons. The updated look was more of a fresh paint job than a full scale remodel.

  3. I recall quite a few stores in the northern NJ area having something along the lines of that decor package in the late 90s. Off the top of my head, I can think of Clifton, Plainfield, Sparta, Springfield andf Teaneck. I'm sure there were others.

  4. Yes, I remember the Convenience Store look. My childhood store in Berlin, NJ had it. It originally opened with the 70s decor, but I don't seem to remember it.

  5. Belmar and Point Pleasant had this decor as of the mid 90s.
